Western Cape Wins Chairman’s Cup 2009
Congratulations to the Western Cape team who made history last weekend by winning the Overall Trophy of the Chairman’s Cup for the first time ever! This was the 27th Chairman’s Cup (the event known as the Chairman’s Cup began in 1983) and it was superbly staged by Valley Gun Club near Paarl. Western Cape not only won the Overall Trophy, they also set a new record!
Junior Bronze Medal for Tobie de Wet
Tobie de Wet recently won the Bronze Medal in the European DTL Trap Championship in France. Tobie comes from a family of highly successful Trap Shooters and is clearly continuing the trend! Tobie is currently the top trialist in the National Trial for the World DTL Trap Championship to be held in South Africa.
Club Development - R87,200 granted by CTSASA
The CTSASA has recently allocated the sum of R87,200 towards club development. Included in this sum are amounts for development for Port Elizabeth Clay Target Club to continue supporting Piet Windvogel in his quest for National Protea Colours. Piet has been extremely successful in achieving high scores in DTL Trap, with a particular success of earning Mackintosh Colours as well as CTSASA Merit Colours with a score of 297 ex 300 in the Mackintosh Final at the South African Grand in April 2009. Keep going Piet!
